I was just watching TV and saw that commercial with Elle McPherson where the baby is crying until the Dad shows him an online photo of Elle in a swimsuit. It occurred to me while watching it that the baby was actually crying - really crying, which made me wonder what would possess a parent to allow their pre-verbal infant to cry inconsolably in some actor's arms so she could be featured in a commercial.
