Today is election day in my adopted hometown of Knoxville, TN, and we will be electing our first new mayor in 16 years. Our newspaper of record, the Knoxville News Sentinel (KNS) has clearly favored Republican, old-Knoxville-money-family candidate Bill Haslam (who seems like an honest, nice guy, even if I don't agree with some of his politics) over progressive candidate Madeleine Rogero.
In the front page story on today's election in the online version of KNS today, there is a "related links" section with hyperlinks to various election related stuff. Interestingly, one of the "related links" is Bill Haslam's official campaign website. Rogero's site gets nary a mention. This seems like a pretty bold "oversight" to me.

My sister-in-law and brother are looking for a native or fluent Greek speaking nanny/au pair to come live with them and their 3 young children in a beautiful little rural village near Nashville, TN. Competitive pay and benefits and excellent working conditions. If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, email me at kgranju-at-yahoo.com

I really love my friend Jeannie Ouellette's essay on why teenage girls poke around the homes of their employers when they are babysitting. I guess I thought I was the only one who did....
